Calculators
El Finiquito
Severance and dismissal compensation calculator: check, item by item, whether the figure your employer offers is the one you are owed.

The brief
A tool for the worst moment of a working life: you are dismissed, the company hands you a figure, and you have no way to tell whether it is right.
The problem
The employer has an accountant; the worker has nobody. And there is a basic confusion that costs money: severance pay and dismissal compensation are not the same thing. Severance is money already earned and always owed; compensation only applies when leaving wasn’t your decision. Plenty of people sign for less because they assume one covers the other.
The solution
From four inputs it returns the full breakdown: days worked, untaken holiday, the accrued share of extra payments, and compensation. It handles contracts predating the 2012 reform — calculated at 45 days per year rather than 33 — and flags which portion is exempt from income tax.
Most usefully: enter the amount the company is offering and it tells you how much is missing.
Calculation happens in the browser; data never leaves the device. The design departs from the rest of the family: dark background and amber accent, more sober for a delicate moment.
