Expense app that reads your receipts with the camera: snap, recognise the text, split by category. No accounts, no servers.
The idea
An expense app that removes the step everyone quits over: typing. Photograph the receipt and the text is recognised on the phone itself.
The problem
Finance apps ask you to sign up, sync your movements and keep data that says a lot about you on someone else’s server. Plenty of people stop right there.
The solution
Everything happens locally. Text recognition runs in the browser, data never leaves the device, and there is no account to create. One screen: capture, see the split by category, check the history. Available in five languages.
Outcome
Published and in use. It installs as an app straight from the browser, and an Android APK is available too. Today your data is stored on your device only.
What’s coming
Google sign-in is in development. With it, your expenses get a cloud backup and stay up to date on your phone, your tablet and the next handset you buy, with nothing to export by hand.
It will be the recommended way to use the app, and anyone who prefers no account can carry on: local mode is not going away.
